The Audit Officer contributes to BMTC’s success by performing audits of the company’s governance, risk and control policies, processes and procedures to assess compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.  In addition to reporting on the design and implementation of financial, operational and reporting controls, the Audit Officer adds value by proposing recommendations for improvement based on best practices.

This position will be based in Havertown, PA.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Chief Audit Officer in the completion of the Audit Risk Assessment, the development of the Annual Audit Plan and the updates of audit programs and tools.
  • Execute the assigned audits and tests by performing and documenting the completion of required procedures, analyzing results and reviewing potential findings and recommendations with audit leadership. Lead client meetings on assigned audits.  Serve as a resource to junior staff.
  • Coordinate, maintain and own the Exception Monitoring Report (EMR) and all supporting processes. Present the EMR at meetings of the Audit Committee.
  • Support audit leadership in the compilation of materials from KPMG, Finance, Internal Audit staff and contract auditors that are required for the periodic Audit Committee meetings.
  • Continually advance personal professional development by seeking out relevant webinars and learning experiences to advance knowledge of relevant regulations, application of professional standards and job-related skills.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business discipline required. Accounting, audit or finance majors preferred.  Graduate degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • 2-9 years of audit experience acquired in a public accounting firm or internal audit department. Competent in performing risk assessments, applying audit methodologies, enhancing audit procedures and performing complex audits within banking and wealth management businesses.
  • Ability to pass the CPA, CIA, CAMS, or CRCM examinations within the first year is required. Having attained one of the above certifications is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, written/verbal communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Intermediate or higher level of competence in Microsoft applications including Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint required. Familiarity with Access, SQL, Business Analytics, data mining or other analytical tools is preferred.
