COMMERCIAL LINES TEAM MANAGER

This Commercial Lines Team Manager is responsible for the overall retention and marketing of new and renewal business for the commercial division of BMT Insurance Advisors.  This leader will supervise a team of account managers, follow and communicate market trends, source products to meet client needs, implement an informed marketing strategy, prepare new and renewal marketing specifications, guide and manage selection of carriers, review submissions and proposals, and negotiate terms, conditions and pricing to best serve client needs. 

This position will primarily be a remote working role with ability to come into the office as needed (Berwyn, PA). Candidates must reside within a commutable distance to the office.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day to day activities of commercial account managers, including their professional development and growth
  • Direct and monitor new business and renewal marketing related activities
  • Supervise, train, and develop the capabilities and skillset of the account management team in alignment with service model
  • Negotiate and maintain carrier contracts in adherence with insurance operations requirements
  • Monthly marketing analysis to track progress toward targets and goals
  • Act as a strategic thought partner with BMTIA leadership, developing best practices
  • Work in concert with personal lines, commercial lines new business team, the bank and others to drive profitable business, with a continued focus on retention
  • Vendor management and risk assessment as required
  • Act as primary account manager for select “larger” account relationships
  • Maintain and update procedures and policies for commercial lines
  • Audit and compliance liaison for commercial lines
  • Ability to lead in a remote environment; demonstrating exceptional communication skills; accountability and focus
  • Participation in leadership meetings and conduct team meetings with account managers
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • College degree with 5-years’ experience in commercial lines insurance account management and staff management preferred
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Applied Systems a plus (TAM and EPIC)
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Natural team leader and collaborator
  • Industry professional certifications a plus
  • Ability to work and lead in a remote environment
  • Licensing as required
